This class builds on Intro to Quilting by moving from grid-based construction into structured strip piecing.
You’ll learn how to:
- sew a traditional log cabin block,
- build outward from a centre square,
- manage accuracy as each seam is added, and
- use light/dark fabric placement to create movement.
We’ll also cover pressing strategy, trimming, reducing distortion, and how different block layouts can dramatically change the final quilt design.

Our book this month is "Gender Queer: A Memoir" by Maia Kobabe - an autobiography in the form of a graphic novel, exploring the author's identity as nonbinary and asexual. At this meeting we will talk about the book in its entirety. (If you don’t read the book, you’re still welcome to join and participate in the conversation - just be aware that you might hear some spoilers.)
