GBMSM Rapid HIV/Syphilis and STI Testing
Wednesday and Thursday Clinic for those who identify as gay, bisexual, or queer men who have sex with men. Get tested for several STIs, with the option to take a rapid HIV and/or Syphilis test to know your status in 60 seconds. There is no cost for this program. An appointment is required.
Rapid HIV & STI Testing
Centre for Sexuality offers the following services for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM), including cis, trans and other gender diverse folks:
Testing for common sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBIs), including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis A, B, & C, and HIV
Rapid or “point of care” testing for HIV and syphilis, providing results in about one minute, so you can know your status before you leave your appointment!
Treatment for common STBBIs including chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis
Vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B (all ages) and HPV (for folks 26 and under)
Free condoms and lube
Information and referrals for other services such as HIV PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)
We offer two STI testing clinics: One one is open to anybody 14 or older of any gender identity or sexual orientation. The other is only open to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM).
Appointments will become available exactly one week in advance from the appointment time. For example, the appointment for Wednesday at 4:00 pm next week, will become available to book at 4:00 pm on Wednesday of this week. If the system does not show any available appointments, it means that they are either all booked, or they are not yet available for booking. We encourage clients to routinely check this page for availability, including for last-minute appointments (we do get cancellations!).
When: Wednesday and Thursdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Skipping Stone runs DBT skills groups for trans and gender diverse adults. Because our groups are facilitated by registered mental health providers, they are only open to residents of Alberta.
Throughout this 10-week program, we will teach new skills, review previous skills, and provide opportunities to practice coping strategies to deal with the demands of everyday life. There will also be plenty of time for discussion, questions, and connecting with other participants.
The program is aligned with dialectical, cognitive behavioural, and mindfulness-based models and focuses on problem-solving and acceptance-based strategies.

More and more, communities are facing hostility, harassment, and threats to their safety — and a lot of us want to show up for the people and places we love but aren't sure how. The wanting is there. It's the how that's missing.
This training is the how. Over two evening sessions online and an optional full day in person in Calgary, you'll learn practical skills in nonviolent action, de-escalation, and community-led safety - taught by Nonviolent Peaceforce, who have spent more than 20 years keeping people safe in some of the most dangerous places on earth, from Ukraine to South Sudan.
You'll leave with real skills, the confidence to use them, and everything you need to start a peace team of your own - through your church, your organization, or your community.
Whether you're showing up for queer and trans communities, standing with immigrant and refugee neighbours, organizing for a ceasefire, or helping keep any gathering safe under pressure, the tools are the same. If you've ever wanted to be a steadying presence when tensions rise, this is where you learn how.
The program runs in two parts. The two online sessions are required for everyone. The in-person day is optional — and because it builds directly on the online trainings, completing both online sessions is required before attending in person.
You're welcome to take the online sessions only; many people will.

We'll let folks in until 7:00, so please arrive before then! _______________________ Lavender Teatime is a community group hosted through Calgary Outlink that serves as a supportive social space for those whose identities are informed and understood in relation to experiences of queer womanhood, including trans, non binary, and cis folks as they feel comfortable in this space. Regular meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, as well as Monthly Special Event Meetings held once a month. We understand and recognize that there can be a lot of nuance to how each of us identifies and that we do not all use the same language even when we might share similar experiences. We recognize also that our unique identities can shape the ways we experience and are experienced by the world and that our experiences might not align even when we share identities. We celebrate these differences and strive to create space where all our beautiful diversity can shine! There are endless ways to identify and even more ways of being in community. If you feel that you align with this group, you are welcome here! This meetup is intended as a space for casual connection. This is not a structured therapy group nor is it a dating space. If you are looking for further support, Outlink staff are available to meet with you one-on-one or in small groups by phone, text based messaging, or video call upon request. They can also help connect you to other counselling and support services. Please note that this meeting is moderated by Outlink staff/volunteers who reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is in violation of our Safer Space Ground Rules. The nearest LRT Stations are Downtown-West Kerby (blue line) and 8th Street (red line). Nearby bus routes include the #65 and #66. Other buses are nearby in the area as well. Building Accessibility: There is a ramp at the main doors. There is a lip at the bottom of the ramp, so it's not quite flush with the ground. There is an elevator in the building. Washrooms in The Rainbow Room are all-gender and have larger stalls in them. Public health and the safety of our communities is very important to us! The following safety practices are put in place for our in-person programming: Wearing a mask is always welcome and encouraged. If you have any cold, flu, measles, or Covid symptoms (ex. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, rash, etc), we ask that you please do not attend. The room can fit about 12 people comfortably.
