Please note that The Sentry Box is made up of two separate business entities. To access the building, please enter through the west entrance into the Sentry Box, not The Sentry Box Cards. We’ll be on the upper mezzanine or back room depending on availability. Signs will be placed on the tables to help folks find us!
Please also be aware that the upstairs portion of this event is not wheelchair accessible due to the approximately 9 stairs into the building. Trans stories and trans joy are essential to trans liberation, and we’re thrilled to present a second edition of A Celebration of Trans Storytelling for this year’s festival. Gwen Aube (Missed Connections with Tall Girls), Casey Plett (On Community), Vivek Shraya (The Hystericals), Kat Simmers (Lily), and Kai Cheng Thom (The Shape Shifter’s Guide to Gym Class) will make their voices heard in this unapologetically queer show hosted by Pam Rocker.
Note from the artists: Kai Cheng and Vivek’s new novels explore emotionally powerful and socially charged topics, including prejudice, mental health, and violence. Audience members are warmly encouraged to take care of themselves and others as needed. No graphic descriptions of violence or injury will be included in this event.
This show is part of Wordfest’s Imaginairium festival, Oct. 13 to 18, 2026. Connect with 50+ of the world’s most arresting writers, thinkers, activators, and inspirers, gathered just for you in Calgary, Canada. Wordfest also showcases the world’s most intriguing authors (in every genre!) from January through December.
