October is queer history month! Join the Calgary Gay History Project’s Kevin Allen, and poet Skylar Kay, on a history walk through the Beltline. We will highlight significant political and social events that affected the 2SLGBTQ+ community—with poetry! The 75 minute walk begins and ends at Memorial Park Library Kevin Allen is a fourth-generation Calgarian who has been documenting and profiling queer people and events for 30+ years. Strong Hearts is for everyone 16 and over within the trans woman or trans feminine umbrella.
As well as those looking to affirm, explore, or are questioning a feminine gender identity. Strong Hearts focuses on finding that unwavering light inside of all of us. It is about building the capacity to truly embrace, love, and be kind both within ourselves and as a community.
This event will be held in the room near the entrance of the building. Look for the Skipping Stone sign!
