Come join Queer Calgary for a fun evening of board games, laughter and fun! We welcome anyone to attend, whether you’re a newcomer to gaming or an experienced board game enthusiast.
This event is happening at The Sentry Box. Please note that The Sentry Box is made up of two separate business entities. To access the building, please enter through the west entrance into the Sentry Box, not The Sentry Box Cards. We’ll be on the upper mezzanine, and signs will be placed on the tables to indicate our tables.
Please be aware that this event is not wheelchair accessible due to the approximately 9 stairs into the building.
However, please remember that these events are meant to be a safe space for the Queer community. Transphobia, homophobia, and discrimination of any kind are not welcome. Being a safe space also includes being respectful of photography. Before taking any pictures including people, please always ask for permission.

Prime Timers Calgary (PTC) was re-established in September 2003 to provide opportunities to interact socially with other mature gay and bisexual men. Our goal is to foster positive interaction for our members by facilitating social, recreational and educational activities.

Transgender Day of Remembrance marks a day each year for the 2S&LGBTQIA+ community and allies to remember, honour, and mourn the loss of transgender, non-binary, and Two Spirit people who have been killed due to anti-transgender violence, transphobia, and hate crimes.
Held worldwide on November 20 each year, TDoR was founded in 1999 by trans advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a candlelight vigil to honour Rita Hester, a trans woman murdered in Massachusetts in 1998.
Knox United will again host a vigil on Friday, November 20 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. We will open our doors immediately after the rally held each year at McDougall Centre, and will stay open until 10:00 pm. This event is completely free.
Our event will be held in our sanctuary and will be an opportunity for folks to take a breath, to warm up, to use safe, accessible washrooms, to have a snack and a hot drink and to be in community with others. The event is secular; however, pastoral care and self-serve communion will be available for those who are interested.
Knox has been a proud member of Affirm United since 2007. We acknowledge the difficult history between the Church and the 2S&LGBTQIA+ community and we strive to welcome and affirm all people, especially the 2S&LGBTQIA+ community. At Knox and we affirm and encourage the full participation of all in our work and ministry. Our TdoR event is a part of our ongoing work with diverse communities.
Knox United is located at 506 – 4 St SW, on the corner of 6 Ave and 4 St SW. Look for the Rainbow Glitter Wall on 4 Street. Our 6th Avenue doors, which lead directly into the sanctuary and our 4th Street doors, which are an accessible entrance, will be open.

Our November book is "Being Aro"! Edited by Madeline Dyer and Rosiee Thor, this compilation of short stories focuses on aromantic experiences, "highlighting the infinite ways people find connection and love without romance". After reading the companion collection "Being Ace" last year, we are excited to dive into a suite of diverse aro representation in fiction!

Everyone is welcome to join us, whether you’re a-spec yourself, or interested in reading books with a-spec characters/themes. This is a "no obligations Book Club" and everyone is welcome to attend, whether you read the book or not (just be aware you might hear some spoilers). We usually hold meetings every month, depending on the book chosen and its availability at libraries across Alberta. Feel free to bring suggestions for what we should read next!
