Most sewing classes teach you how to follow a pattern.
This series teaches you how to work with your body.
This 3-part series is for queer and trans sewists who want to understand fit beyond standard sizing and learn how to alter clothing and patterns in ways that support their body and their gender expression.
We will move slowly, intentionally, and with full awareness that measuring and fitting can bring up body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria. This space is built to hold that reality without rushing, minimizing, or pretending it does not exist.
Registration $45: https://sewproudyyc.ca/fit-form-gender-expression-3-part-class-series/

🏳️🌈 Queer Calgary is a registered non-profit that aims to combat queer isolation and foster a queer community in Calgary. We champion this by organizing regular community events.
Location: West Village Theatre, 2007 10 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T3C 0K4, Canada
Four young students, in a repressive college environment, decide to vary their very governed lives. After school, one breaks out a copy of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and they all take turns reading the play aloud. The Bard’s words and the story itself are thrilling to the boys, and they become swept away, enmeshed in the emotion so much so that they break school rules in order to continue their readings. The rigidity of their lives begins to parallel the lives of the characters in the play: roles in the family, roles in society, and the roles played by men and women soon seem to make sense.
