Join Blake McLeod, CQAS Artist-in-Residence, for this hands-on zine-making workshop where you'll transform your ideas into a tangible creative expression over your lunch hour.
Zines have deep roots in underground communities, offering a DIY publishing format that bypasses gatekeepers and amplifies voices often missing from mainstream media. They've been a staple in queer communities for decades—providing space for raw, honest storytelling when traditional channels weren't available to us.
During this workshop, Blake will guide you through the basics of zine creation while exploring how art functions as a tool for resistance. As a queer artist navigating Alberta's current political climate, Blake brings firsthand experience of how creative expression can challenge systems and create community through shared struggle and joy.

GBMSM Rapid HIV/Syphilis and STI Testing
Wednesday and Thursday Clinic for those who identify as gay, bisexual, or queer men who have sex with men. Get tested for several STIs, with the option to take a rapid HIV and/or Syphilis test to know your status in 60 seconds. There is no cost for this program. An appointment is required.
Rapid HIV & STI Testing
Centre for Sexuality offers the following services for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM), including cis, trans and other gender diverse folks:
Testing for common sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBIs), including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis A, B, & C, and HIV
Rapid or “point of care” testing for HIV and syphilis, providing results in about one minute, so you can know your status before you leave your appointment!
Treatment for common STBBIs including chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis
Vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B (all ages) and HPV (for folks 26 and under)
Free condoms and lube
Information and referrals for other services such as HIV PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)
We offer two STI testing clinics: One one is open to anybody 14 or older of any gender identity or sexual orientation. The other is only open to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM).
Appointments will become available exactly one week in advance from the appointment time. For example, the appointment for Wednesday at 4:00 pm next week, will become available to book at 4:00 pm on Wednesday of this week. If the system does not show any available appointments, it means that they are either all booked, or they are not yet available for booking. We encourage clients to routinely check this page for availability, including for last-minute appointments (we do get cancellations!).
When: Wednesday and Thursdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
