Join us for a short and joyous dedication of GLITTER RAINBOW, a new community public art installation.
We’re dressing up Knox’s exterior 1960’s annex wall with 100,000 giant shimmering sequins. Eleven-coloured holographic and iridescent banners reflect the use of colour and symbolism throughout the vibrant history of 2S & LGBTQIA+ community organizing in the ongoing movement for inclusion, liberation, equity and justice.
GLITTER RAINBOW is for everyone. Created by the congregation of Knox and designed by artist and minister Rev. Keith Murray, with generous support from Calgary Arts Development’s Community Public Art Microgrant, this installation offers a bold, joyful symbol of belonging and hope.
