Join us for a psychoeducational workshop led by MRU Counsellor Ricardo Avelar that explores how queer knowledges can inform counselling practice through identity, relationality, and care. Drawing on an ongoing and critical practice of cultural humility, this workshop invites participants to reflect on how power, context, and lived experience shape therapeutic relationships.
Participants will be supported to explore and strengthen their culturally responsive counselling skills while identifying areas for continued learning and growth.

Come join Queer Calgary for a fun evening of board games, laughter and fun! We welcome anyone to attend, whether you’re a newcomer to gaming or an experienced board game enthusiast.
This event is happening at The Sentry Box. Please note that The Sentry Box is made up of two separate business entities. To access the building, please enter through the west entrance into the Sentry Box, not The Sentry Box Cards. We’ll be on the upper mezzanine, and signs will be placed on the tables to indicate our tables.
Please be aware that this event is not wheelchair accessible due to the approximately 9 stairs into the building.
However, please remember that these events are meant to be a safe space for the Queer community. Transphobia, homophobia, and discrimination of any kind are not welcome. Being a safe space also includes being respectful of photography. Before taking any pictures including people, please always ask for permission.
You can RSVP on Meetup here! Please note you are not required to sign up to attend, all of our ongoing programs are always open to walk ins!

It’s October 1991, at the height of the AIDS crisis, and the residents of Casey House, Canada’s first free-standing AIDS hospice receive word that Diana, Princess of Wales, will be making a historic visit.
“Powerful, gripping, funny and hopeful,” (Hamilton Magazine), this moving drama by Nick Green vividly captures a moment in time when a rebel Princess, devoted caregivers and advocates reshaped the course of a crisis—and how those stricken by the virus found hard-won dignity, community and love in the face of astonishing hardship. Inspired by incredible true events, Casey and Diana is a powerful tribute to love, resilience, community and compassion.
